Hi, I’m Scott — a set and experiential designer who builds immersive environments for film, themed entertainment, and live experiences.
Over the years, I’ve contributed to award-winning projects like Avatar, Black Panther, Top Gun: Maverick, and Passengers. Whether I’m sketching initial concepts or diving deep into 3D modeling and technical drawings, I love shaping the spaces where stories unfold.
My background in fine art and theatrical design gave me a foundation in composition, scale, and emotional storytelling. Since then, I’ve spent decades honing my skills, all the while adapting to new tools, workflows, and production challenges. These days, my most common tools are Rhino, Maya, ZBrush, Substance, and Unreal Engine, as well as some custom-built plugins I’ve developed to speed up production. I enjoy combining creative thinking and technical problem-solving, especially on fast-paced teams with big ideas.
I’m most at home in the in-between: where design meets logistics, and where rough ideas turn into real, physical spaces.
Currently based in Raleigh, NC. I’m available for freelance, contract, or collaborative roles. Whether you’re working in film, live shows, theme parks, or something totally unexpected — if it needs a world, I’d love to help build it.
“Design is not just what it looks like and feels like.
Design is how it works.”
